Haldiram's has been delighting customers for more than 80 years with its genuine Indian snacks and sweets

Over the course of eight decades, a lot has changed about us. We have relocated, undergone expansion, developed new product lines & added segments, opened retail chains & stores across India and embraced new markets overseas. One thing hasn’t changed - we’re still a tight-knit family business, committed to serving the most authentic taste of India through our products.

From our formative years, he instilled the value of keeping the tradition and quality intact, even as we matured as a company. All our products maintain a consistent sense of simplicity. The ingredients and recipes were picked to accentuate these ideas and are followed to this date. We promise that all our products are natural, wholesome and have a homemade feel to them.

Our origins can be traced back to a small namkeen shop in Bikaner founded by Ganga Bishan Agarwal (Haldiram Ji). This modest shop quickly gained popularity and scaled up to meet a booming demand for its unique-tasting bhujia. Building on this legacy, his grandson, our pioneer Mr. Shiv Kishan Agrawal steered the business towards the heights it has tasted today.

The way to one’s heart courses through their stomach

Determined to take bhujia beyond the boundaries of Bikaner, he shifted base to Nagpur in 1970. We opened our first full-production unit to introduce a delectable variety of savouries, sweets and beverages to the market. The success of this venture led us to expand and evolve as a brand, that is an integral part of every Indian household.

Although, Haldiram’s is about more than just food. By creating a strong sense of community and supporting our associates, we continue to feel like a true family business. We carry these values with us as we operate together to serve generations of happy connoisseurs across the globe and continue to be the nation’s beloved snack-food company.

Foundation

Founder: Ganga Bishan Agarwal, also known as Haldiram Ji, opened a small sweet and namkeen shop in Bikaner, Rajasthan. He started with traditional snacks like bhujia, which quickly gained popularity.

Bikaneri Bhujia Popularity

Haldiram's Bikaneri Bhujia became widely popular for its unique taste, setting the foundation for future growth.
1941

Entry into Nagpur

The family decided to expand their operations further. One of the branches of the family led by Shivkisan Agrawal, the grandson of Ganga Bishan Agarwal, moved to Nagpur. This marked the beginning of the brand’s presence in Central India.
1970

Establishment of Manufacturing Unit in Nagpur

Haldiram’s set up its first major manufacturing unit in Nagpur, focusing on packaged snacks and sweets. This plant contributed significantly to scaling the brand’s operations.
1982

Rapid Expansion

In the 1990s, Haldiram’s Nagpur division expanded its operations significantly by entering the packaged snacks market. The brand focused on ready-to-eat snacks, expanding its product range to include namkeens, sweets, papads, and other Indian snacks.

Exporting Products

Haldiram’s from Nagpur started exporting its products to countries with large Indian diaspora populations, such as the USA, UK, and Middle Eastern countries.
1997

National Brand

By the early 2000s, Haldiram’s had become a pan-Indian brand, with its products available across India, primarily driven by its Nagpur operations. This decade also saw the company expanding its reach into new markets like the USA and Europe.

By 2013, Haldiram’s had become India’s largest snack company, overtaking major competitors. The Nagpur unit was one of the significant contributors to this growth.
